Regular Meeting
Tuesday, June 17, 2008
7:00 P.M.
Present at the meeting were Norman Kappes, Linda Krinop, Tammy Wilhoit, Jeff Volz, Mary Ann Gay, Cathy May and Toni McDonald.

Motion was made to waive the reading and adopt the pre-read minutes. Linda 1st, Norman 2nd

Motion was made to approve a claim to Green 3 for $1,020 for 25% of the Concept Plan and Construction Documents for the Buckeye Street Parking Lot. Linda 1st, Norman 2nd

Motion was made to include Life Time Resources in our 2009 Budget for the amount of $1,000. Norman 1st, Linda 2nd

Gas/Street Department – Steve Wilhoit stated everything was good.
Police Department – John Hegge had a written report that was turned in to Council. His report stated:
ILEA records are up to date.
S.O.P.’s are near completion.
RCCF grant report has been completed and mailed.
IDACS & NCIC agreement with Ripley County has been signed.
O.B.C. – Toni McDonald stated that the roses have been planted at the clock.
Kerri Johnson asked Council if she could get some assistance with cars driving to fast down Tanglewood Road. She asked if a stop sign could be placed at 300 N and Tanglewood Road. The Town will need to get with the County because it involves them as well. Steve Wilhoit will talk to the County to see what can be done.
Council wanted to clarify the Ripley County Park’s new meter charge. The County will be billed a minimum charge on the new 2” meter as long as there is usage. If there is no usage on the meter we will waive the minimum charge. Council wanted to encourage the Park to use locks on their outside water hydrants to keep people from turning them on and letting the water run on the ground.
Motion was made to sign an Addendum to Linkel Company’s contract to continue to pick up garbage for 2 more years with no additional cost. Linda 1st, Norman 2nd

Motion was made to adopt Ordinance 2008-9. Establishing fees for Handgun Permits. Those fees will increase from $40 to $50 for a lifetime permit. Norman 1st, Linda 2nd

SIRPC – Jodi Comer had papers for Jeff to sign. This would close out the grant for the Water Project.
The owner of 227 Beechmont had contacted the Clerk-Treasurer requesting the sewer charge be waived on her investment home. Clerk-Treasurer had advised her that we would not waive the sewer fee because she had water usage. She was also told that if she didn’t want to pay the minimum charges on water and sewer that she needed to have the water meter shut off. Council agreed that the sewer charge would not be waived.
