Council looked into the issue that Jerry Burton had brought up at the last meeting about the Osgood Police Department. Council stated that the Osgood Police Department was NOT taking care of that report; Ripley County Sheriffs Department is handling it.
Street Department Steve Wilhoit stated that the U.S. 421 Project is still good on funding, still under bid. He presented Council with sign samples, which has been discussed several times due to the new Federal Regulations. He also requested Council to consider one speed limit throughout town, except for Buckeye Street, because the Town has no control over the highway. Also, there has been some mischievous activity throughout the town. One of the historical signs has been broken by the mini park and flowers have been pulled out of the flower pots. He stated that it is very sad because people work very hard to keep the Town nice. Another concern was grass clippings that are being blown out into the roads and into the storm drains. The drains are being clogged and water builds up, which causes backups. Employees have to come in every time it rains because drains are being covered and clogged.
Limb pick up is for limbs only, not whole trees.
Police Department Eric Roush stated they have been very busy. He gave his monthly statistical report. Also, they have been spending a lot of money on repair and maintenance for Adams police car. They have been obtaining estimates for a new car. Council has requested information on leasing.
